Recreation use within the Pocatello Field Office is
separated into three distinct management areas. The Blackfoot River
Special Resource Management Area (SRMA), the Pocatello SRMA and the
Pocatello Extensive Recreation Management Area (ERMA). Recreation sites
in the Pocatello Field Office includes developed campgrounds,
semi-developed camping facilities, non-motorized trails for hiking,
equestrian use and bicycling and motorized trail systems for OHV
recreation. The Pocatello Field Office also manages the Snake River
Vista Recreation Site for the BLM's Burley Field Office which offers
camping, fishing and boating on the Snake River.
The Pocatello SRMA covers 33,382 acres of lands located
near Pocatello. It includes the West Bench, Chinese Peak, Blackrock
Canyon, Camelback, North Pocatello, South Pocatello and Moonlight
Mountain areas. Major recreation activities include OHV use, mountain
biking, hiking, running, cross-country skiing, horseback riding,
hunting and picnicking.

with 40 miles of designated routes for OHV riding, mountain biking,
hiking, horseback riding, big game and upland game hunting.
