DAY RIDE

The Miccosukee Canopy Road Greenway parallels six miles of Tallahassee's historic canopy roads through 500 acres of the Red Hills Region of northern Florida. The trail traverses rolling hills in mixed hardwood and pine forests, interspersed with several large pastures reflecting its agricultural background. Along the trail, users may observe over 46 species of birds, including ibis, egrets, and herons, Sherman's fox squirrel, and a variety of plants and wildflowers.

Trail Length/Surface: Currently 5.5 miles of multi-use trails, hard-packed clay; mulch
Fee: None
County: Leon
Nearby Towns: Tallahassee

Notes:
Along the trail are several benches and picnic tables where hikers may appreciate the beauty of this rural setting. The main parking areas are located near the intersection of Edenfield Road and Miccosukee Road, and the intersection of Thornton and Miccosukee Road. Future access points are being developed at Fleischman Road and Crump Road. Pedestrian/bike access is currently available at Fleischman Road.
The Miccosukee Canopy Road Greenway has been host to several collegiate and high school cross- country meets.

Access/Directions:

From Interstate 10, take Exit 209 west. Turn right on Edenfield Road to Miccosukee Road. From Tallahassee, take Miccosukee Road east to Edenfield Road. Parking area is on left hand side of Miccosukee Road.
