as the largest hunter/jumper event West of the Mississippi. Each
January, riders and horses from all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico
and Europe flock to Indio to compete at the Desert Circuit. For
several years, the Desert Circuit has attracted over 2000 horses
annually. Although the attraction of the warm California winter
is undeniable, riders are drawn to the Desert Circuit due to its
reputation for world-class show jumping and its high quality facility.
The Desert Circuit offers over $1 million in prize money throughout
the six-weeks of competition, plus a $150,000 Grand Prix - America's
richest show jumping purse. The Circuit has 12 Grand Prix events,
four of which are World Cup Qualifiers. The premier show jumping
event is unique in its ability to attract both the top international
horses and riders as well as beginning rider seeking to gain valuable
experience in the ring under the eye of some of the countty's top
